History
Tsukishima Station, in Chūō ward of Tokyo, is jointly operated by Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway and serves the Yūrakuchō Line and the Ōedo Line. The Tokyo Metro portion of the station was opened on 8 June 1988 by the Teito Rapid Transit Authority. The Toei Ōedo Line platforms followed on 12 December 2000, completing the present T-shaped layout. The two operators' platforms are linked by a first-basement corridor, but passengers transferring between the lines must pass through each operator's separate ticket gates. Each company's section comprises one island platform serving two tracks.
