• Kisuki Line: Minami-Daitō ⇄ Hinobori

Kisuki Station opened on 11 October 1916 as the terminus of the privately built Hinokami Railway, in what is now Unnan, Shimane Prefecture. On 18 December 1932 the state railway's Kisuki Line was extended to reach the station from Izumo-Minari, and on 1 August 1934 the Hinokami Railway was nationalised and incorporated into the Kisuki Line. Freight handling was discontinued on 7 November 1982 and parcel handling on 14 March 1985. Kisuki Station joined the West Japan Railway Company (JR West) at the 1 April 1987 privatization. The Midori no Madoguchi staffed ticket counter operated from 17 March 1991 until 10 March 2023, when it was replaced by a Midori Ticket Machine Plus.

Kisuki Station carries the nickname "Yamata no Orochi," after the eight-headed serpent of Japanese mythology said to inhabit the surrounding Izumo region.
