Location

History

Maehata Stop opened on 25 December 1925 on the Toyohashi Railroad Azumada Main Line (stop number 8), and is located in Maehata-chō, Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture. The stop has opposed safety zones — one for each direction — set on the far side of the adjacent intersection from approach traffic. Because the line climbs a steep grade east of here towards Azumada-Sakaue, the Azumada-bound platform sits part-way up the slope on an inclined platform.

Notes

A 2014 commercial for Otsuka Foods' MATCH soft drink — featuring sisters Alice and Suzu Hirose — was filmed at this stop, although the on-screen platform was renamed "Hirose" for the spot. The line east of Maehata is laid on stone-paved track.
