History
Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station is an underground Kyoto Municipal Subway Tōzai Line station in Nakagyō-ku, Kyoto, located beneath the Kawaramachi-Oike intersection. It opened on 12 October 1997 with the inauguration of the Tōzai Line between Daigo and Nijō stations, together with the adjoining Zest Oike underground arcade and a large municipal car park. The station carries the number T12 and is assigned a deep-crimson kara-kurenai station colour. PiTaPa IC card acceptance began on 1 April 2007, and the staffed ticket gate was converted to fully remote operation on 1 November 2022. Some Keihan Keishin Line through services terminate here using a westward reversing siding.
Notes
Through-running Keihan Keishin Line trains originally all terminated at this station because no reversing space could be secured nearer to the line's previous terminus at Keishin-Sanjō; the Keishin extension was made possible only when the Tōzai Line opened westward to Uzumasa-Tenjingawa in 2008.
