History
Iwaki Station opened on 29 March 1929 on the Osaka Railway in present-day Katsuragi, Nara Prefecture. The line was absorbed into Kansai Express Railway following a corporate merger on 1 February 1943, and a further merger on 1 June 1944 placed the station on the newly formed Kintetsu Railway, where it remains on the Minami Osaka Line. The station is unattended and the effective platform length is four cars.
