• Kisei Line: Funatsu ⇄ Owase

Aiga Station opened on 19 December 1934 on the Japanese Government Railways (JGR) Kisei East Line in what is now the town of Kihoku, Mie Prefecture. After World War II the JGR became the Japan National Railways, and the line was extended south to Kuki Station by 12 January 1957. On 15 July 1959 the route was rechristened the Kisei Main Line, and on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR Central at privatisation. The station was destaffed entirely on 1 April 2005, ending an arrangement under which the former Miyama town had run the booking window. The original wooden station building has been repeatedly patched and remains in use today.

The current Aiga building is the original 1934 wooden station structure, kept in service through successive repairs for more than ninety years.
