• JR Kure Line: Takehara ⇄ Akitsu (Hiroshima)

Yoshina Station opened on 17 February 1935 when the Ministry of Railways extended the Sankure Line (now the Kure Line) from Takehara to what is today Yasuura, in present-day Takehara, Hiroshima Prefecture. Through-completion between Mihara and Kaitaichi on 24 November 1935 placed the station permanently on the Kure Line. Goods handling ended on 6 June 1961 and parcel handling on 1 February 1984. With JNR privatisation on 1 April 1987 the station came under JR West. ICOCA service launched in September 2007. The unstaffed station has two opposed side platforms reached by stairs from an embankment, connected by a level crossing, and an automatic ticket machine on site.

Yoshina is the birthplace of former Prime Minister Hayato Ikeda, and a bust of him stands near a shrine east of the station.
