Undō-Kōen Station opened on 29 March 1989 with the transfer of JR East's Ashio Line to Watarase Keikoku Railway.

Undō-Kōen faces Kiryū Sports Park (Kiryū Athletic Stadium and the municipal gymnasium are on the opposite side). Across the park sits Jōmō Electric Railway's Kiryū-Kyūjō-Mae Station; although there is no formal connection between the Watarase Keikoku Line and the Jōmō Line, these two stations are the pair where the two routes come closest to one another.
