• Dosan Line: Awa ⇄ Kageno

Tosa-Kure Station opened on 15 November 1939 as the western terminus of the Dosan Line when Japanese Government Railways extended the track west from Susaki — the last pre-war segment of the Dosan Line. It became a through-station on 20 October 1947 when the line was extended west to Kageno. Emperor Shōwa's imperial train made a scheduled five-minute stop here in March 1950. Freight handling ended in 1970, parcel handling in 1985, and control passed to JR Shikoku at privatisation on 1 April 1987. Full unstaffing came on 1 October 2010; a kan'i itaku agent later reopened the window. The building was renovated in October 2024 and now houses the Nakatosa tourism association. All limited expresses stop here.

The station and surrounding town appear in the opening of the 2016 anime film Poppin' Q as the route used by the local heroine, Izumi Kominato, on her way to school.
