Shuzenji Station, in Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, is the southern terminus of the Izuhakone Railway Sunzu Line, 19.8 kilometres south of Mishima. It opened on 1 August 1924 with the final extension of the Sunzu Line from Ōhito. Scheduled freight ended on 1 December 1966 and a new station building was completed on 27 April 1983. In 2000 the station was added to the Chūbu region's 'Top 100 Stations' list. Reconstruction was carried out in 2013–14: partial service began in the new building on 5 October 2013 and the completion ceremony took place on 13 September 2014. The rebuild added a north entrance, a north-south free passageway, a souvenir shop, a tourist information office and a station-bento counter. From 5 March 2024 Mishima Shinkin Bank holds the station's sub-name sponsorship.

On 27 March 2015 the Railway Technical Research Institute used the Tagi–Shuzenji segment to run the world's first train-test using superconducting power transmission, installing a superconducting feeder system at Ōhito Station to deliver the experimental power.
