• JR Katamachi Line: Neyagawakoen ⇄ Shijōnawate

Shinobugaoka Station opened on 1 May 1953 as a new infill stop on the Japanese National Railways' Katamachi Line between Hoshida and Shijōnawate, after a community petition drive — it was the first railway station inside what is now Shijōnawate, Osaka. The single-platform stop was rebuilt with two opposed platforms on an elevated alignment on 1 October 1979 when the line was double-tracked. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 it passed to JR West, and the line received the "Gakkentoshi Line" promotional nickname on 13 March 1988. Midori-no-madoguchi ticket-office service began on 1 November 1992, J-Through fare-card support on 8 March 1997, ICOCA on 1 November 2003, and station number JR-H33 was introduced on 17 March 2018; the green ticket window closed on 20 March 2018.

Although the station is Shijōnawate's only one, neighbouring "Shijōnawate Station" lies in Daitō, not Shijōnawate itself. The station's name derives from Shinobugaoka kofun, an ancient burial mound nearby.
