• Fukuchiyama Line: Hirono (Hyogo) ⇄ Sanda

Shin-Sanda Station opened on 1 November 1986, simultaneously with the full electrification of the Fukuchiyama Line under Japanese National Railways. It became part of West Japan Railway Company on 1 April 1987 at privatisation and adopted the JR Takarazuka Line nickname from 13 March 1988. A Midori no Madoguchi staffed window opened in November 1992, automatic ticket gates in January 1998, and ICOCA IC card service in November 2003. Station numbering JR-G62 was introduced in March 2018. The station has two island platforms serving four tracks and functions as the northern boundary of the Hanshin urban network: most northbound services beyond here pass to the Fukuchiyama branch's control. The Midori no Madoguchi closed on 30 June 2025 in favour of a Midori no Kenbaiki Plus.

The station's triangular pension-style roof makes it visually distinctive among JR Takarazuka Line stops, and the platforms sit on an embankment higher than the concourse, reached by an underpass and overpass.
