Shin-egota Station opened on 19 December 1997 as a stop on the Toei Ōedo Line in Nakano ward, Tokyo, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. It lies 5.4 km from the line's starting point at Hikarigaoka and is designated station E-34. The station has a single island platform on the second basement floor, serving two tracks. Nearby attractions include Egota-no-Mori Park as well as the campuses of Nihon University College of Art, Musashi University, and Musashi Junior & Senior High School.

Despite the similar romanisation, "Shin-egota" (新江古田) is read with the egota syllabification — distinct from nearby Ekoda Station (江古田駅) on the Seibu line, which is read "Ekoda".
