History
Shimōsa-Nakayama Station opened on 12 April 1895 on what is now the Sōbu Main Line in the city of Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, and is operated by East Japan Railway Company. The station is served by Chūō-Sōbu Line local services and sits 19.0 kilometres from the line's origin at Tokyo and 20.2 kilometres from Chiba. It is built around a single elevated island platform serving two tracks with the staffed station building underneath. The neighbourhood is best known for the nearby Hokekyō-ji temple complex; Keisei Nakayama Station on the Keisei Main Line lies a short walk to the south.
