• JR Wakayama Line: Hoshiya ⇄ Tainose

Senda Station opened on 1 October 1952 as an additional stop on the Wakayama Line between Hoseya and Tainose stations, then operated by Japanese National Railways. With the dissolution of JNR on 1 April 1987, the station was transferred to JR West. Located in a rural part of Wakayama city about 81 km from the Ōji Station terminus, it has remained an unstaffed halt with a single side platform and a simple shelter. ICOCA contactless ticketing became available on 14 March 2020. Daily ridership has stayed modest, averaging 187 boarding passengers in fiscal 2019.

The platform stands a five-minute walk from Wasa Children's Park, which displays a stone marker for the birthplace of Panasonic founder Konosuke Matsushita.
