History

Seki-Tomioka Station was opened on 11 December 1986 as a newly built petitioned station when the Etsumi-Nan Line was transferred from the Japanese National Railways to the third-sector Nagaragawa Railway. It is an unstaffed halt with a single side platform.

Notes

Although Seki-Tomioka is a tiny single-platform halt, it serves a cluster of community facilities including Gifu Medical Technology Junior College, Tomioka Elementary School and the local Tomioka kindergarten, and is the nearest station to the Seki Knife Museum ("Knife Hall") for the city of Seki's famous blade industry.
