History
Seihama Station was opened on 15 July 1961 as an unstaffed passenger-only halt added between Kado and Obama on the Japanese National Railways' Obama Line. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 the station came under the control of JR West.
Notes
The station has no station building at all; only a small shelter sits on the single side platform, and passengers reach the platform directly from the Obama-side entrance. There is no ticket machine on site.
