History

Seiaichūkōmae Station opened on 1 December 1973 as Jōnan Station (城南駅) on the Kōnan Railway Ōwani Line, serving the city of Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture. The station was renamed Seiaichūkōmae on 1 September 2008 at the request of the adjacent Hirosaki Gakuin Seiai Junior and Senior High School. Daytime staffing was partially withdrawn on 1 April 2006, and the station has been fully unstaffed since 1 April 2009. It consists of a single side platform serving a single bidirectional track; the only weather protection is a small shelter on the platform, with no station building.
