• Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line: Yobitsugi ⇄ Moto-Kasadera

Sakura Station opened on 7 March 1917 as a stop on the Aichi Electric Railway, the predecessor of today's Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line. With the merger that created the Nagoya Railroad in 1935, the station passed to Meitetsu. Parcel handling ended on 16 February 1967, the building was rebuilt with a new overbridge in May 1983, and the station was de-staffed in August 2004 ahead of the Tranpass system's 15 September introduction. The manaca smart-card system replaced Tranpass on 11 February 2011. The two opposed side platforms are connected by a single footbridge at the Yobitsugi end of the station.

After the abolition of Seki Station, Sakura became Meitetsu's only single-kanji station name — and the 2019 'Sakura saku' tickets paired it with Kintetsu's Sakura Station as a good-luck souvenir for examinees.
