History

Nishiyamaguchi Station opened on 18 August 1933 in what is today Kinokawa, Wakayama Prefecture. The Kishigawa Line on which it sits passed through several operators—Wakayama Railway, Wakayama Electric Tramway, and Nankai Electric Railway—before transferring to its current operator Wakayama Electric Railway in April 2006. The original station building was demolished in 1996, leaving only a weather shelter on the single side platform. The station is unattended and primarily serves the nearby Nagayama housing complex.

Notes

The station building was demolished in 1996; passengers now wait on the side platform under only a roof shelter.
