History
Nagitsuji Station opened on 12 October 1997 with the inaugural Daigo-to-Nijō segment of the Kyoto Municipal Subway Tōzai Line. Construction had begun on 31 July 1995 and station works wrapped on 30 May 1997. PiTaPa IC cards became usable on 1 April 2007. The platform follows the Tōzai Line convention of an island layout with full-height screen doors, and the station's signature colour is cosmos pink.
Notes
The station name uses the rare kokuji 椥 (nagi), said to have been invented locally to mark a giant Asian bayberry tree that travellers once used to identify the village.
