• JR Senseki Line: Rikuzen-Haranomachi ⇄ Tsutsujigaoka (Miyagi)

Miyaginohara Station opened on 1 January 1926 as a stop on the Miyagi Electric Railway. The line was nationalised on 1 May 1944 and the station passed to JR East on the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987. On 11 March 2000 the station was relocated underground, with the new platforms about 150 metres southeast of the former above-ground location, as part of the Senseki Line city-centre tunnel project. A dedicated departure melody — the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles' team song "Habatake Rakuten Eagles" — was introduced on 26 March 2010 in keeping with the station's role as the closest stop to the Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi baseball stadium.

Each platform features one of the Eagles mascots painted in mural form — Clutch on the Sendai-bound side and Clutchyna on the Ishinomaki-bound side.
