History

Matsushita Station opened on 1 April 1963 as a passenger-only unstaffed stop on the JNR Sangū Line, between Futaminoura and Toba in present-day Ise, Mie Prefecture, built using locally subscribed utility bonds. The station passed to JR Central with the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987. It consists of a single side platform built on an embankment, with no station building and a small waiting shelter on the platform; steps connect the platform to the adjacent road.
