History

Kujō Station (Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line, station number K12) opened on 11 June 1988 with the extension of the Karasuma Line from Kyōto to Takeda, in Higashi-Kujō-Minami-Karasuma-chō, Minami-ku, Kyoto. PiTaPa support began on 1 April 2007. The station sits under the intersection of Karasuma-dōri and Kujō-dōri.

Notes

Kujō has the lowest ridership of any Kyoto Municipal Subway station; this is attributable to the fact that the Kyōto–Takeda section runs in parallel with the Kintetsu Kyoto Line, so all stations between the two suffer from divided passenger traffic.
