• Kishin Line: Sayo ⇄ Mimasaka-Doi

Kōzuki Station opened on 8 April 1936 with the extension of the Ministry of Railways' Himetsu Line (now Kishin Line) between Sayō and Mimasaka-Emi, in present-day Sayō Town, Sayō District, Hyōgo Prefecture. On 10 October 1936 the Himetsu Line was renamed Kishin Line. Freight services were discontinued on 1 February 1963, and parcel services on 1 March 1971, when the station was de-staffed. The station became part of JR West on 1 April 1987 at the privatisation of Japanese National Railways. The station building was rebuilt on 4 October 1996, then on 10 August 2009 Typhoon-9 damage closed the surrounding line section and the station was suspended; substitute buses began on 12 August and rail service resumed on 5 October 2009 with the reopening of the Sayō – Mimasaka-Emi section. On 13 March 2010 the Kishin Line speed-up project was completed, expanding direct Himeji-bound services during the day. Kōzuki is the westernmost station in Hyōgo Prefecture and also the westernmost in the Kinki region.

Per the Japanese Wikipedia article, fiscal 2021 averaged 31 daily boarding passengers at Kōzuki. The renovated 1996 station building also serves as a Sayō Town speciality-products store and noodle eatery, with miso-stewed udon, mountain-vegetable soba, and kitsune udon available.
