Komi Station (Meitetsu station number TA13) opened on 18 February 1912 with the inauguration of the Aichi Electric Railway between Denmachō (later abolished) and Ōno (today Ōnomachi), in Shinchi-Morishita, Chita, Aichi. The line became part of Meitetsu when Aichi Electric Railway merged with Nagoya Tetsudō on 1 August 1935. Tranpass-compatible works were completed on 15 January 2005, with central management from Ōtagawa Station and unstaffed operation introduced at the same time. The manaca IC card began on 11 February 2011 and Tranpass ended on 29 February 2012. The down platform, previously usable only for four-car trains, was extended in 2019 (effective in August) to six-car length, eliminating the door-cut operation that had been in force.

Until the 2019 platform extension, six-car trains stopping at Komi had to operate with the doors cut on the overrunning car because the down platform was only four cars long and the protruding cars blocked the in-station and adjacent level crossings.
