• JR Sanyō Main Line: Yū ⇄ Ōbatake

Kōjiro Station, in the Yū-machi district of Iwakuni, opened on 13 July 1917 as a signal stop on the Sanyō Main Line between Yū and Ōbatake; an earlier station of the same name, repeatedly suspended and reopened since 1899, had been abolished as a seasonal halt in June 1916. The signal stop was elevated to a full passenger station on 11 October 1944. Goods handling ended on 1 February 1984 and the station was destaffed on 1 February 1985. With the privatisation of JNR on 1 April 1987 the station passed to JR West, and ICOCA card use began on 12 March 2022. The station is at the 366.8 km point from Kobe.

Kōjiro records the lowest daily boardings of any station on the Sanyō Main Line, averaging just 45 passengers a day in fiscal 2022.
