History
Katsuno Station, in the town of Kotake in Fukuoka Prefecture, opened on 13 February 1901 as a freight-only stop on the Kyushu Railway, successor to the Chikuho Kogyo Railway which had originally opened the Wakamatsu–Nōgata line in 1891. The Kyushu Railway was nationalized on 1 July 1907, bringing the station under Japanese Government Railways. On 12 October 1909 the station became part of the Chikuhō Main Line, and on 21 July 1912 it was upgraded to handle passenger services. With the privatization of JNR on 1 April 1987 control passed to JR Kyushu.
