History

Kanyūsha-Hikosan Station opened on 15 March 2008 on the Hitahikosan Line as part of Soeda Town's regional self-promotion project, serving the adjacent Michi-no-Eki Kanyusha Hikosan roadside station. Construction had begun in October 2007. Rail service was suspended on 5 July 2017 after the Northern Kyushu Torrential Rains damaged tracks and railway infrastructure on the line, and replacement bus services subsequently ran from a stop within the roadside-station grounds. Rail service was formally replaced on 28 August 2023 by the BRT Hikoboshi Line, with the BRT stop located at the same roadside-station entrance along Fukuoka Prefectural Route 52.

Notes

After rail services were suspended, the platform and surrounding tracks were removed, and the cleared area was repurposed as the entry and walkway for Forest Adventure Soeda, an experience-based leisure facility built next to the adjacent roadside station.
