Iyo-Himi Station opened on 1 June 1961 as a new infill station on the existing Yosan Line, handling diesel railcar passengers only as an unstaffed stop. With the privatisation of Japanese National Railways on 1 April 1987, operation passed to JR Shikoku. The station consists of a single side platform with only a shelter and no station building; passengers reach the platform by a ramp from the access road, with bicycle sheds located behind the platform at the base of the ramp.
