History
Horikawa-Koizumi Station (C03) is a Toyama Chihō Railway tram stop in Horikawa-Koizumi-chō, Toyama City, on prefectural road 43. It opened on 1 September 1913 as Kyōshinkaijō-mae tram stop on the Toyama Electric Tramway and was renamed several times — Joshi-Shihan-Kō-mae c.1913, Jogakkō-mae 1921-23, (old) Koizumi-machi on 1 April 1947 after wartime suspension was lifted, and finally Horikawa-Koizumi on 15 May 1950 when a new Koizumi-machi was opened.
Notes
Horikawa-Koizumi has gone through five different names in its 112-year history: Kyōshinkaijō-mae (1913), Joshi-Shihan-Kō-mae, Jogakkō-mae (1921-23), Koizumi-machi (1947) and finally Horikawa-Koizumi from 15 May 1950 — adopted only after a new, separate Koizumi-machi tram stop opened that day.
