History
Hiroo Station opened on 25 March 1964 under the Teito Rapid Transit Authority as a stop on the Hibiya Line, numbered H03 on the line numbered 17.8 km from its northern terminus at Kita-Senju. Despite the name, the platforms sit in Minami-Azabu rather than the Hiroo neighbourhood of Shibuya. The station was inherited by Tokyo Metro on 1 April 2004 at TRTA's privatisation, PASMO became usable in March 2007, exit 4 was added at the Kita-Senju end of the concourse on 1 April 2016, and dedicated departure melodies began on 7 February 2020.
Notes
Hiroo Station's name refers to the adjacent Hiroo neighbourhood in Shibuya Ward, but every entrance and platform actually sits inside Minami-Azabu within Minato Ward.
