• Kintetsu Keihanna Line: Gakken Nara-Tomigaoka ⇄ Shiraniwadai

Gakken Kita-Ikoma Station opened on 27 March 2006 with the Kintetsu Keihanna Line extension from Ikoma to Gakken Nara-Tomigaoka. The originally planned name was "Kita-Yamato", drawn from a former village in the area, but the city's mayor pressed for the name to feature "Kita-Ikoma", and the prefix "Gakken" was added in reference to the nearby Takayama district of Kansai Science City. PiTaPa service began on 1 April 2007. The station has two opposed side platforms on an elevated structure, with concourse and ticket gates on the ground floor and platforms above. Its glass-and-aluminium facade with repeated triangular motifs was designed for high visibility, and the concourse displays exhibits of Ikoma City products such as Takayama tea whisks.
