History

Furuichibashi Station is a JR West stop on the Kabe Line in Furuichi, Asaminami-ku, Hiroshima. It opened on 19 November 1909, and became a JR West station on 1 April 1987 with the privatisation of Japanese National Railways. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks, with the station building beside the Hiroshima-bound platform; there is no overpass, so passengers cross the line at a manned crossing to reach the opposite platform. A ticket office is staffed during daytime hours.
